In Fostoria, when the sun goes down, it means the action on the rails is just heating up. Things go from busy as usual to something along the lines of "extreme railfanning" (and sometimes just downright continual organized chaos). Friday nights are certainly no exception. In this view, E-942-28 (West Ashtabula, OH - Cicero, IL/BNSF coal empties; BNSF ES44AC # 6016 and BNSF SD70MAC # 8984) heads west past the B&O depot on main 1 as the sun sets, while Q-340-02 (Cincinatti, OH - Willard, OH freight; new BNSF ES44AC #'s 6191 and 6190) cruises into town on main 2.
As I've said before, Fostoria is often just "UP East"....or maybe "BNSF East" (or, BOTH) tonight; check out the 8 trains that passed through the "Iron Triangle" between 4:35 pm and 6:14 pm today:
