Q-339-05 (Willard, OH - Cincinatti, OH freight) is gliding by Adams Street on main 1 on Wednesday afternoon at a leisurely pace, with a nice matched set of H2 C44-9W's, BNSF 4454 and 4458. The train has a stop signal at Godsend, the first signal west of here, where it will wait for Q-388-07 (Chicago, IL - Cumberland, MD freight) to cross over from main 1 to main 2 before proceeding. Q-388-07, however, is waiting for the T-903-05 (Wells Prep, WV - Miller, IN coal loads) to clear, which is presently in the background on the right with CSXT AC4400CW #'s 219 and 251, accelerating out of town on main 2 after clearing the southwest transfer where it came from Columbus to make the turn and head west. Just another typical busy afternoon in Fostoria...

March 5th, 2008:
Spring may be on the way soon, but it was certainly not here yet on this winter morning of storm recovery, full of snow, ice, and grey skies.
Through the scene next to old B&O depot in Fostoria blasts BNSF SD70MAC # 9618, looking rather ghostly with its "BN" logo no longer on the nose. She is leading CSXT train U-994-04 (Cicero, IL/BNSF - Colona, PA Powder River coal loads) eastbound on B&O main # 2, along with BNSF SD70MAC # 9404, also in the "executive" colors. Both units also have fairly newly applied "swoosh" patches on the sides of the cabs, not visible here.
The winter weather delayed many trains on this day, but didn't keep the Fostoria Rails from being just as busy as ever.
