Site Update # 6

Recent changes/additions/news for Fostoria Rails:

1.) Did you know?.....that if you click on the photo in the "Pic of the Day" posts, that it will link you to a full screen image of the Pic of the Day? If you haven't done so, try it!

2.) Added photos of NS 3323, 3324, 3325, 3326, and 3327, completing the "assigned 9" NS SD40-2's. Also added a new and better photo of NS 3328.

3.) Added photo of NS GP38-2 # 5106, currently assigned to the Fostoria Mixing Center as a fill in for CAT GP38 # 2867. Changed/added photos/archive data for NS Local and Fostoria Mixing Center power.

4.) Added new photos/archive data for CSX local power in March.

5.) No recent Daily Train Logs have been added...this is experimental and sometimes time consuming. I'm not sure if and when I will continue to update them. Feedback on this would be appreciated.

6.) Changed header photo on March 19th.

7.) I started this blog in mid-January and allowed it to go public in early February. It is dynamic and still a work-in-progress. In the future, additions may be made, however, I may not always be able to keep the site updated as regularly (usually daily) as I have in the last couple of months. I enjoy doing this! So, the site isn't going away no matter what. But I'm just stating up front that it may evolve over time. Any feedback on what you have and haven't liked or would really like to see "stay" (or be added) is appreciated.

8.) A news update and train schedules are the next things I am looking to add/update in the near future, so be watching!

Somehow, I didn't even realize this site existed... I doubt I will be a frequent visitor, but it looks great!

Is this site active? It doesn't seem to have been updated since March.

March 5th, 2008:

Spring may be on the way soon, but it was certainly not here yet on this winter morning of storm recovery, full of snow, ice, and grey skies.

Through the scene next to old B&O depot in Fostoria blasts BNSF SD70MAC # 9618, looking rather ghostly with its "BN" logo no longer on the nose. She is leading CSXT train U-994-04 (Cicero, IL/BNSF - Colona, PA Powder River coal loads) eastbound on B&O main # 2, along with BNSF SD70MAC # 9404, also in the "executive" colors. Both units also have fairly newly applied "swoosh" patches on the sides of the cabs, not visible here.

The winter weather delayed many trains on this day, but didn't keep the Fostoria Rails from being just as busy as ever.
